Youth Theatre
This year we will not be holding auditions for membership to the Senior or Junior
Youth Theatre instead we will be accepting up to 30 members per group. However
we do emphasise the need for commitment from the members and, of course, take
into account the pressures of your academic studies when setting dates for the
performances.
Membership is for a full academic year from September 2010 to July 2011. The
cost is £160 per group which is payable in full or 2 instalments
We would love for you to join the Youth Theatre; our first productions will be
our own version of Romeo and Juliet as a juke box musical using songs by Lady
GA GA and The Killers (for the seniors) and a new musical version of Twelfth Night
with original songs written exclusively for the Empire for the juniors! Performance
dates will be set early in the term so that you all have plenty of notice. We
will announce our next performance ideas in due course.
Youth Dance Company
We will however continue to hold annual auditions for the Youth Dance Company
– these will be held on Wednesday 15th September at 5.30pm. The Youth Dance Company
participants will be invited to take part in regional and national dance showcases
details of which will be announced shortly. Membership will be for a full academic
year 22nd September 2010 to July 2011 and costs £160.
Stars Dance and Drama Groups
Specifically for younger performing arts enthusiasts these groups are specifically
designed to introduce participants to many dance and drama techniques and to encourage
confidence, self esteem and team work. Stars Dance and Drama will take place
every Thursday for 10 weeks each term. Membership is paid termly and costs £55.
